Papers sans trees!

Every year scoreless trees are cut and fallen for paper manufacturing. This practice continued for decades; and it is still on. However, of late there has been a sharp decline in the number of trees that are cut and fallen for paper manufacturing. The major reason behind this fall in tree felling has been the usage of wheat straw by the paper companies in place of trees. Wheat straw, the agricultural residue, has reduced the need for trees to a large extent.

A4 paper manufacturers in India are now meeting the paper demands of printing industry with the help of wheat residue. There has been a lot of thrust on innovation and environmental wellness. New ideas, new technologies are knocking at the doors and the paper companies seem to be more than happy to open their doors to these new ideas and technologies. A wonderful thing indeed!

The best part of all this is that there would be a lesser need for trees, which are already shrinking in numbers in the country. Paper companies should look for some more ways to reduce their dependency on trees and other natural resources. Only then we’d be able to do something for the betterment of our planet.
